Onshore Disposal & Waste Treatment – Murdo MacIver, Peterson Offshore Group, Board Director
Murdo joined the oil and gas construction industry in the late 70's and was involved in various commercial and contracts management roles until the mid 80's, mainly with Lewis Offshore Ltd. He then spent a number of years working in Project Management roles in Holland, Germany and Venezuela before re-joining Lewis Offshore Ltd in 1990 as Project Services Director and a member of the management buy out team. In 2000 he went to Shetland to set up and lead Shetland Decommissioning Company, a joint venture organisation between SBS Logistics, Lerwick Port Authority and other partners to market and develop an offshore decommissioning capability in Shetland. In 2002 he also became a director of SBS Logistics Ltd and joined a team to form a management buy out of the business and led commercial management activities for the company, he also continued to lead decommissioning activities for the company which was successful in winning its first project in 2005 for onshore decommissioning/disposal of approx 20000 te of modules and pieces of small steelwork for the Frigg Cessation Project through establishing partnerships with Aker Solutions and Veolia Environmental Services. In 2008 he became a director of Peterson SBS Ltd and Peterson Offshore Group following a sale of SBS Logistics Ltd to the Peterson Control Union Group to form a strong logistics services and decommissioning support company across the North Sea.
