Robert is Babcock International Group’s key contact within DECOM North Sea, and has responsibility within Babcock’s Energy & Marine Technology Division for activity in Oil & Gas sector, including UKCS Decommissioning programmes. Robert is a Chartered Engineer, and a Fellow of Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He has significant operational and contract management experience in the Offshore Sector, previously gained in his capacity as Operations Manager with a multi discipline service provider, and continues to use this management experience alongside Babcock’s extensive capability in decommissioning sectors. Under his stewardship, Babcock has participated in a variety DECOM North Sea activities including: -

Babcock encourages the activity of Robert McCaig within Decom North Sea, and will fully support his on-going contribution to the decommissioning sector. With particular reference to the Marine and Logistics category, Babcock offer significant capability, much of which can

be applied in the offshore decommissioning sector.

  • Fully Managed ‘W2W’ Projects. In 2014 set a UKCS record of 18,095 safe personnel transfers from a single offshore campaign.
  • Steering Committee for DNV industry Led W2W Guidance Document.
  • International reputation for delivering engineering design, structural analysis and innovative technology in offshore and marine sectors. Marine Audit Assurance and Analysis.
  • Babcock services for Allseas BV ‘Pioneering Spirit’ - included Class Design of: - Marine systems, Naval Architecture, Statutory aspects, Outfitting, Pipelaying interface structure, and Lifting devices.
  • In 2014, Bond Offshore Helicopters, part of Babcock International Group, transported 200,465 oil and gas industry staff and flew 57 search and rescue missions across the North Sea.
