XODUS Group

The Benefits of Using Research Funding to Solve Real Engineering Challenges
This presentation provides an overview of a research project undertaken by Xodus Group working in partnership with the University of Dundee and the Oil and Gas Innovation Centre (OGIC).  The focus of the research was to better understand what influences the size of the recovery loads for skirted subsea structures and whether this knowledge could be used to optimise decommissioning planning and reduce costs. The support provided by OGIC navigated both parties through the process, culminating in delivery of a very insightful piece of work, the benefits of not only the project but the value gained from the whole research funding process will be discussed.
