March 2018 Bitesize Decom

Following member feedback, Decom North Sea has created a series of Bitesize Decom Events, an evolution from our previous Lunch and Learn events. This will add value to our delegates by having a stronger focus on the latest late-life and decommissioning updates, upcoming plans and opportunities from operators and contractors and key case studies.

Decom North Sea knows it is imperative that those who need to understand the decommissioning market are equipped with the knowledge and tools with which to make the most of an industry whose UK spend alone is forecast at an estimated £17.6 billion over the next decade (Oil & Gas UK Decommissioning Insight Report 2016).  This is a significant commercial opportunity for the supply chain, in particular those companies offering cost-efficient solutions which could help restore competitiveness to the basin.

This Bitesize Decom event will include presentations from; Decom Energy, Hiretech Limited, Spirit Energy and The Oil & Gas Technology Centre

Hiretech Limited

A Solutions Based Approach To Equipment Rental For Decommissioning Applications
Hiretech Limited offers a solutions based approach to equipment rental for decommissioning applications with enhanced capabilities for redesigning and modifying standard products to meet client requirements, new product introduction including a Solids Recovery System to support decommissioning project scopes, as well as ability to support client decommissioning innovation.

Spirit Energy

Morecambe Bay Late-Life Planning and Contracting
The offshore infrastructure at Spirit Energy’s Morecambe Bay operations has been successfully producing gas for over 35 years. As part of the company’s late-life stewardship of these assets the first phase of decommissioning is being developed. Project manager, Donald Martin, will share an overview of the Spirit’s late-life planning and the challenges it faces across the Morecambe Bay asset. This will include an insight into the first round of decommissioning contracting in which a number of Decom North Sea members have been successful in securing work.

The Oil & Gas Technology Centre

Decommissioning is one of the Oil & Gas Technology Centre’s key focus areas. Its decommissioning solution centre identifies, co-funds and manages projects that accelerate technologies to drive down the costs of decommissioning. The aim is to ensure all facilities are decommissioned cost-effectively and help the UK to become a world leader in this growing global market. The Centrs is working with industry on five decommissioning themes: knowledge exchange, removal readiness, life support for decommissioning, innovative removal solutions and residual liability.

All bookings are made through Eventbrite where only credit/debit cards are accepted; we no longer accept invoices. This can be accessed using the "Book Tickets" button.

This session will offer the opportunity for attendees to maximise their networking with key players from across the decommissioning sector and Decom North Sea will continue to connect capability with opportunity by organising the popular facilitated introductions for our member companies. Event Terms and Conditions   Please note that all event delegate bookings are subject to our Event Terms and Conditions.
