Technology Centre offers c.£1m for decommissioning ideas
The Oil & Gas Technology is seeking innovative ideas and concepts that can help drive down the cost of decommissioning.
The Centre’s decommissioning ‘Call for Ideas’ has c.£1 million to invest in projects for modular, integrated power generation and utilities, also known as ‘life support’ systems’ that can be deployed during decommissioning.
The deadline for ideas is 16 February and full technical information on the Call can be viewed here.
Roger Esson, Decommissioning Solution Centre Manager for the Oil & Gas Technology Centre, said: “If we can develop alternative life support solutions from our Call for Ideas, operators will have flexibility on the complete asset removal strategy, scope and timing. This will help us drive down the cost of decommissioning.
“The Calls are only one way that we reach out to the technology community, and we encourage people to get in touch with us at any time if they have an idea!”
