Company Overview

Augean North Sea Services (ANSS) was formed to provide a one-stop solution for oil and gas operators, handling all wastes associated with drilling, production and decommissioning from offshore installations.

We have an excellent track record in Drilling Waste Management, with an attitude to safety that is second to none, as demonstrated by more than 8 years LTI free offshore.

ANSS are opening a hazardous waste transfer station quayside in Shetland, adjacent to the existing Decommissioning infrastructure in Lerwick. With a 10,000bbl tank farm and PPC permit pending to allow acceptance of various hazardous wastes, this facility is ideally situated to enhance the islands' decommissioning capability.

In addition to being able to accept bulk liquid wastes direct from vessels using the harbour, the tank farm will also allow us to accept hazardous washings from the decontamination of equipment – either for treatment on site or transfer to another Augean location, depending on the waste. We will also be able to receive a variety of bulk and packaged wastes.

This site is supported by the unique nationwide infrastructure enjoyed by the Augean Group. This includes the 4 sites operated by ANSS in Aberdeen, as well the Group's Oily Waste Treatment Centre, Oil & Solvent Recovery Plant, High Temperature Incinerator and Waste Recovery Park. This is addition to our radioactives handling capabilities which place us at the forefront of the UK's NORM disposal market.

Technologies employed by the group include;

  • Industrial Cleaning Services
  • OBM Emulsion Treatment
  • High Temperature Incineration
  • Ultra High Pressure Water Jetting
  • Thermal Desorption
  • Contaminated Soils Treatment
  • Water Treatment
  • Energy from Waste
  • NORM Disposal
  • Hazardous Landfill
