Company Overview

Brown and May Marine has been providing a range of fishing interface services and environmental consultancy to the offshore oil & gas, offshore renewables and subsea cable industries since 1980.

Services include fishing intensity and interaction studies, Environmental and Socioeconomic Impact Assessments and compensation assessments, fisheries liaison services and procurement and management of guard vessels and post installation/decommissioning sea - bed rectification operations.

We maintain comprehensive databases of fisheries statistics, fishing fleet compositions and associated satellite tracking and surveillance data within EU waters and the Norwegian Sector and maintain longstanding productive relationships with local, national and international fishermen's organisations and statutory bodies. This allows us to undertake and produce robust, accurate, socioeconomic and risk assessments related to the decommissioning of oil and gas installations and associated infrastructure on commercial fisheries stakeholders as recommended under the relevant DECC guidance notes. In turn, this assists our clients to making informed decisions regarding decommissioning strategies and satisfies both Regulators and Stakeholders at the consent application stage.

Amongst others, previous work for oil and gas industry clients has included socioeconomic impact and risk assessment in relation to commercial fishing activity for BP (Loyal/Schiehallion/Alligin/Foinaven/Suilven and Clair areas), ConocoPhillips (Jasmine pipeline), Chevron North Sea Ltd (Rosebank and Cambro Development Areas).
