The award-winning John Lawrie Group is the leading provider of reuse and metal recycling services in Scotland. With strategically located SEPA-licensed facilities in Aberdeen, Montrose, Evanton and Lerwick (with a combined licenced capacity of 285,000 tonnes per annum) and all close to quaysides, the company is ideally placed to offer decommissioning services to the oil and gas market that deliver best-in-class compliance on sustainable waste management.
Our new 8,000m2 metal recycling and decommissioning facility is currently being progressed within the Port of Dundee with a licenced capacity of c75,000 tonnes per annum, and is scheduled to open in early 2020.
The Company has established expertise and a strong track record gained over many years in managing and handling a variety of oil & gas decommissioning projects, including the downsizing of large oilfield structures, the processing of subsea and ‘piece small to medium’ items and the reuse of redundant materials wherever possible, all in accordance with client and regulatory requirements.
Our primary objective is to maximise reuse and recycling and minimise disposal. To this end, our processing methods result in high recovery and recycling rates for a wide range of materials, in many cases up to 100%. With legislation growing progressively tighter along with the increasing development of zero waste strategies, the need for a smarter approach to decommissioning is unequivocal.
Whether working directly with Operators, Teir 1 Contractors or other waste management companies, John Lawrie Decom’s expertise and experience in the onshore downsizing, deconstruction, processing, resuse and recycling of a wide range of subsea materials enables us to provide a single integrated package for clients. This includes excellent working relationships with Port operators and a subsequent ability to collect and/or receive redundant materials from a variety of geographic locations throughout the UK to accommodate specific client requirements.
