Peterson awarded accreditation for occupational health and safety for all Trinidad sites

Leading international energy logistics company, Peterson, has successfully recertified its Trinidad and Tobago operations to four internationally recognised standards, whilst also achieving the international standard ISO 45001:2018 accreditation for occupational health and safety across all Trinidad sites.

ISO 45001 is the new international standard for occupational health and safety (OHS) management systems, replacing the old British standard OHSAS 18001:2007. The new standard provides a framework to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and create better, safer working conditions while focusing on a proactive approach to improving OHS performance.

These certifications underline Peterson’s commitment to be recognised as a global leader in health and safety, by demonstrating compliance with all applicable legislation, including ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 14001:2015 environmental management and ISO 50001:2011 for energy management, creating an impressive portfolio of certifications at international standards.

Alongside these latest accreditations, Peterson continues to strive towards improved procedures through their innovative use of smart technology, which has won the company several industry safety awards. Peterson uses data to identify patterns where safety may be compromised, enabling it to be managed proactively.
